Within the comments below are a list of WordPress Codex articles needing attention or creation. These were generated by the WordPress Meetup Group of Portland, Oregon, as part of their project to give back to WordPress.
PDXWP, please describe the actions needed on the article and provide a link, or describe what the article requested needs to cover. Thank you again for your generosity and excellent work.
Candidate for deletion: http://codex.wordpress.org/codex_syntax_highlighting_test
possible junk page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page/box-header
Broken, needs to be fixed: http://codex.wordpress.org/Codex_Copyright_Holders
Need to verify that the language on this page is still valid. Also the statistics cited are quite old and out of date. http://codex.wordpress.org/Fundraising_and_Promotions/Statements
Determine if this page still needs to exist. http://codex.wordpress.org/Responsibilities/Translations
Old, should be deleted. http://codex.wordpress.org/Project_Ideas
Kill it with fire: http://codex.wordpress.org/Zoezane
delete this dead end page? http://codex.wordpress.org/Introduction_to_Wordpress
Page doesn’t exist:
http://codex.wordpress.org/index.php?title=Function_Reference/calendar_week_mod
http://codex.wordpress.org/index.php?title=Function_Reference/delete_get_calendar_cache
http://codex.wordpress.org/index.php?title=Function_Reference/allowed_tags
http://codex.wordpress.org/index.php?title=Function_Reference/wp_ajaxurl
Candidate for deletion http://codex.wordpress.org/Wexford/admin
Candidate for deletion: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/addLoadEvent. Article has nothing to do with WordPress.
Has a lot of needed pages linking from here and is probably incomplete in and of itself
http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Filter_Reference
http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference
How much (if any) information from older versions of WP are we keeping around? http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks_2.0.x
This is a moot article with current versions of WordPres and it’s pretty much the wrong way. I’d suggest outright deletion to avoid confusion, otherwise it’s just an example of a page-template. http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_an_Archive_Index
Old archive. Do we need? http://codex.wordpress.org/Current_events_archive
The manage files sub-panel doesn’t exist anymore thus the information in this article is well out of date. I’d say it gets deleted and appropriate incoming links be redirected to the appearance->editor sub panel
http://codex.wordpress.org/Manage_Files_SubPanel
Suggestion for deletion http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_for_Non-Developers Is this necessary?
Among the WTF Pages:
http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Responsibilities
http://codex.wordpress.org/Testing
http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Filter_Reference/terms_to_edit there is NO article here
There are now blogs instead of mailing lists for many of the different groups and teams around WordPress. This article needs to be updated with links to all of the sites and descriptions of all the different groups.
The Wanted Pages listing on the WordPress Codex http://codex.wordpress.org/Special:WantedPages is a listing of links created on other articles but no page exists. It goes to a blank edit page on the Codex, begging for information.
Sometimes these are created incorrectly, a misspelling in the text or link, so the link needs to be fixed so the user will land on the right referring article.
Sometimes these are pages that shouldn’t exist but at the time, the author thought it was a good idea or they would get to it later but found it lacked a need, and they forgot to remove the link.
Sometimes these are pages desperately needed on the Codex. Thus, these become wanted articles, a form of to do list on the Codex.
Use your best judgement when going through the list of Wanted Pages on the Codex and help us clean up this list.
Article Wanted
Article needed with a list of the most common errors and fixes for the Troubleshooting section. These include PHP, MySQL, and WordPress errors. Error examples include the white page of death, 500, etc.
Will take this!
Excellent. Thanks!
